WildBC -Get Outside & Below Zero - Programming For Outdoor Learning

This guide and program includes “baby steps” for taking students outdoors – easy and powerful sensory awareness activities that help develop personal connections to nature.  It also contains Teacher Tip Sheets and checklists covering group management, materials, field trip planners and the importance of the “100-Metre Field Trip”.

Outdoor Council of Canada - Field Leader Course

The Field Leader program offers outdoor leadership certification courses for entry level leaders. These courses, based on industry standards, provide a comprehensive introduction focused on the roles and responsibilities of the outdoor leader.

New leaders begin by taking the Field Leader course in one or more of three activity areas: ‘Hiking’, ‘Paddling’ or ‘Equine’. These courses can be supplemented by additional modules that provide training for winter environments, overnight trips and navigation skills.

Youth Safe Outdoors - Risk Management

YouthSafe Outdoors is a comprehensive, research-based risk management program for schools. It includes safety guidelines and fully integrated support resources for people involved in helping ensure school-based off-site programs and activities are safe.

Columbia Basin Environment Education Network

CBEEN provides both professional development opportunities and EE programs that support teachers throughout the Basin. Programs would generate opportunities for teachers to team up with a professional outdoor educator to observe and build confidence providing students outdoor learning experiences.

Forest School Canada is the flagship educational project of the Child and Nature Alliance. We provide evidence-based, practical, and inspiring professional learning opportunities for everyone interested in supporting the healthy development of children through play and learning outside.

Classrooms 2 Communities - BC

Based in British Columbia, Canada, the C2C Education Network is connecting classrooms and communities across the province to grow collaboration, teacher leadership and mentorship capacity for place-based education and environmental literacy.
